Stiles’ NDP will fight rising costs for Sarnia families

SARNIA – Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles will fight rising costs to help families in Sarnia and across the region. Stiles spoke to supporters and families at her campaign stop in Sarnia today, along with NDP’s strong local team: Candace Young (Sarnia Lambton), Nick McGregor (Bruce-Huron) and Kathryn Shailer (Lambton-Kent-Middlesex).

“Families in Sarnia and across the region deserve a Premier and a government that’s on your side. After seven long years of Doug Ford, over 10,000 people in Sarnia have no family doctor; rent has skyrocketed 50 per cent; and nearly 40 per cent of food bank users are children because groceries and bills for the basics just keeps getting more expensive.

As Premier, I will fight against rising costs to help families get ahead. Our Monthly Grocery Rebate will help put food on the table. Our Family Health Guarantee will see more doctors hired for Sarnia, and we'll fix local schools so kids have safe learning environments.

The Ontario NDP’s platform will help fight rising costs in Sarnia.

  • Monthly Grocery Rebate that is based on how much the cost of essential groceries like milk, bread and vegetables have increased under Ford.
  • Bringing in real rent control that closes loopholes and helps people stay in their homes because rent has gone up 51 per cent in Sarnia under Ford’s watch.
  • Hiring more family doctors: Over 10,000 people lack a family doctor in Sarnia.
  • Fixing Sarnia schools. Addressing the $251 million repair backlog across the region.
  • A real plan to fight back against Trump’s tariffs and defend Ontario workers and jobs.
