Ford’s underfunding drives Ottawa hospital to cut 87 nursing positions

OTTAWA – Following the news of the staffing cuts made at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, MPP Chandra Pasma (Ottawa West – Nepean) released the following statement:

“The Queensway-Carleton Hospital should be able to focus on caring for patients,” said MPP Pasma. “Instead, at a time when people are waiting hours in the Emergency Department and on stretchers in hallways, the QCH is left having to make impossible staffing decisions because the province has failed to provide adequate funding.

“The Minister of Health should be ensuring hospitals have the resources they need to deliver high-quality care, not leave them to absorb provincial funding shortfalls while patients and frontline workers pay the price.”
